About Me

When i took the political ideology quiz, I fit in with the New Coalition. Don't know what that means. My ranking on the civics quiz was Tribune. I got 6 out of 11 questions right on the current events quiz along with 7% of voters. I am taking this class because it is necessary. I don't really know anything about politics so i am hoping to gain some knowledge throughout this class.

There has been a battle going on for years, whether or not same sex marriages are acceptable or not. There are many arguments said to either prevent or promote gays and lesbians to be married. Over the years, the United Stated has become more accepting of gays and lesbians, although it hasn’t become fully acceptable, it’s made a lot of progress.
One of the main arguments against same sex marriages is religion. The people that are against it say that it is stated in the Bible that it is a sin for men to be with men, and women to be with women. Other arguments state that men are supposed to be superior to women, society says that men should be manly, masculine, and dominate as women should be small, fragile and sensitive. The roles should not be switched, nor be available to both genders. There are also people that believe that being gay is a birth defect, and they’re born with it and it’s considered a mental illness. Which is wrong for people to believe that just because a person likes the same sex as them, they’re mentally ill.
Despite what society says, I believe same sex marriages are completely acceptable. I don’t believe that it is right to be told by the law who you can and cannot love and marry. The way a man could love another man, or the way a woman can love another woman is not any different than the way a man and woman can love each other. I don’t think that a person can help whom they’re attracted to, nor whom they fall in love with.
